Telford&Wrekin Local Plan
Rodington Parish Council has submitted the following response as part of the Telford and Wrekin Local Plan consultation:
a) Rodington, Rodington Heath and Somerwood should never have been included as a "key settlement" from the outset
b) notwithstanding the above, the infrastructure could not have supported such a large scale of development - particularly the roads and sewage system.
The Telford and Wrekin Local Plan will guide development across the borough until 2040, ensuring the right balance of housing, jobs, green space, and infrastructure to support sustainable communities.
The public review runs from 17 March to 5 May 2025, and at this stage, comments should focus on matters of soundness and legal compliance.

On 11 January 2018 the Telford & Wrekin Council made the formal decision to adopt the Local Plan as a development plan document. The Telford & Wrekin Local Plan sets out the Council’s vision and strategy for the Borough until 2031.
The Plan is the overarching planning policy document for the Borough and forms the basis for decision making process in relation to all planning applications looking forward to 2031, or such a time as it, or elements of it are superseded, whichever comes first.
