It was decided at last night's council meeting to postpone the Transport Working Group meeting scheduled for the 8th February.
The Speed Indication Devices have been successful in reducing speed through Longdon upon Tern and work is being done to increase the visibility of these devices. With more planned for areas of Rodington Village and its hamlets also.
A collaborative approach with Ercall Magna PC is continuing as we work with the two largest transport companies in the area to address their drivers' uses of the roads. If you have any specific issues with transporters please remember to recall as much details as possible and report this through to Cllr David Edwards who can raise your concerns directly with the companies.
We are piling the pressure on Telford & Wrekin Council to progress our road safety scheme proposals so that we can consult with residents on some more immediate road safety measures across the whole parish. We will shortly be conducting an informal survey across the parish to ask people to feed into this scheme with specific proposals that we can try to include in the future road safety scheme, so keep an eye out in our parish magazine and our website.
We want to thank everyone who came to our parish council meeting in November 2021 to raise their concerns and for continuing to help us look into the various road safety issues over these last 15 months. We are not confident that going forward we have a more collaborative working relationship with our neighbouring parishes and highways department.
We will continue to pursue our road safety scheme for our own parish, through the parish council, but also remain a part of the Rural Forum to engage with the larger issues that affect rural Telford & Wrekin.
