The Telford and Wrekin Local Plan is now open for public review – and this is your final chance to have your say before it’s submitted for independent examination.

This seven-week consultation (17 March – 5 May 2025) is a vital step in shaping how our borough grows sustainably over the next 15 years. The plan covers new housing, job creation, green space protection, and infrastructure investment, ensuring that our communities thrive.

Key Highlights of the Local Plan

  • More homes for young people, families, and older residents
  • 17,000 new jobs to support business growth and investment
  • Six new schools to meet growing demand
  • Greener Telford – protecting 2,500 hectares of open spaces
  • Climate action – energy-efficient homes and sustainable transport

During this stage of the Local Plan, residents and stakeholders have a further opportunity to provide comments on the soundness of the plan before it is submitted to the independent nationally appointed Planning Inspector who will consider them alongside the need for any amendments to the plan before it is formally adopted.
